Salvatore Coco, born in Sydney in 1975, is a renowned Australian actor, singer, and voice artist of Sicilian descent.

 

At just nine years old, he began honing his talents as a true triple threat – immersed in acting, singing, and dance developing his craft with the “Australian Theatre for Young People”. Under the mentorship of Nico Lathouris during his later career on “Heartbreak High,” Salvatore further refined his skills and performance depth. Grounded in the techniques of Sanford Meisner and David Mamet, he built a versatile, commanding presence on both stage and screen.

 

Salvatore first captured national attention as Con Bordino in “Heartbreak High,” a role that launched his career in 1994.

 

In the past five years, he made a triumphant return to “Home and Away” in 2022 as Dimitri Poulos, after a 20-year absence.

 

His compelling portrayal of Harry “HAMMER” Hammoud, inspired by Kings Cross enforcer Sam Ibrahim, in “Underbelly: The Golden Mile” solidified his reputation as a powerhouse performer.

 

Salvatore also delivered standout performances in the mini-series “Australian Gangster” (2021) as Les Elias and played Rocco Bellini in the revival of “Seachange.” His collaboration with Richard Roxburgh in “Rake” further highlighted his range.
